Today, in 4 minutes or less, you’ll learn:

  1. Your first website should include a Home page with a clear value proposition and an About page that tells your story.
  2. Detailed Products/Services and Blog/Resources pages engage and inform visitors.
  3. Adding a Contact page along with bonus pages like FAQs and legal policies help boost credibility.

Stepping into the online business world is both exciting and challenging. One of the most essential steps in your launch journey is crafting a website that effectively communicates your brand, builds trust, and converts visitors into customers.

In today's newsletter, I want to share a quick checklist of the pages you should consider having on your first website. Remember, you don't need to have them all sorted from the start. Your website can evolve as you do!

Here are the pages I included at my website launch that you can consider, too:

#1 Home and About Pages

Your Home and About pages should welcome visitors with a clear value proposition. Maximise visual appeal and communicate your key messages. Let your audience know who you are, your mission, and why you started your business. Use engaging images and a design that reflects your personality. Also, guide visitors to explore your site further with strategically placed Call-to-Action buttons. Check out further tips for these pages in this newsletter.

#2 Products/Services Page

Showcase what you offer by clearly detailing your products or services, benefits, and pricing. Use concise descriptions and images to help visitors understand what makes your offerings unique. Showcase client feedback through testimonials and reviews to build credibility and trust.

#3 Blog/Resources Page

Share tips, stories, and industry insights that address your audience's challenges and interests. Regular content updates help improve your site's search engine ranking and increase traffic.

#4 Contact Page

Include multiple contact options, such as a contact form, email address, and social media links. Make it easy to reach you! A dedicated contact page reinforces that you're accessible and ready to help.

#5 Bonuses to Consider

  • FAQ: answer common questions to preempt potential concerns and clarify your services.
  • 404 Page: this is helpful to set up as the default page when a link is broken or something is not working. Add a link to redirect your visitor back to your Home Page.
  • Privacy Policy/Terms and Conditions: essential for legal compliance, especially when collecting customer data or processing transactions.
  • Forms: you will want to capture visitor information to build your email list. Start with forms for newsletter sign-ups or freebies/lead magnets.
  • Email Sequence: plan a welcome email sequence to nurture leads, introduce them to your offerings and provide ongoing value.

By including these pages, you ensure that your website looks professional and is a powerful tool for engaging your audience and driving business growth. Remember, your website is often the first interaction potential customers have with your brand—make it count!
