My Website is Live!!!
Jul 11, 2022My Website is Live!!!
I am writing this post on my website launch day!!! It was such a fantastic feeling to have it ready to launch, and I’ve loved sharing it with all my family and friends. Everyone has been so encouraging, and I’ve really appreciated all the support – the shares, likes and comments on social media, the subscriptions to my newsletter and downloads of my opt-ins.
I have put a lot of hours in over the past few weeks to get everything right and ready to go – setting up socials, finalising and testing email sequences and funnels, finalising content, checking mobile and desktop views and lots of minor tweaks. I have spent a LOT of time with support staff from the Kajabi help desk, sorting out lots of queries as I got closer to launch. I realised I had to go hard and commit to getting all the loose ends tied up; otherwise, it would be weeks until I was ready.
Some things for you to think about in the lead-up to your website launch include:
- I was so glad I had some photos taken with my wedding photographer Bethany from Bethany Clare Photography. It made creating all my website and landing pages much easier as I had about 20 professional photos I could keep uploading in different ways. Bethany is sensational at branding and studio photography. I will give more details in a later post, but I had so many comments about how slick and professional my website looked because of the photos. You could launch your website using stock photos, but this is an investment worth considering.
- I organised my legal policies through the online firm Sprint Law (which I will elaborate on in a future post). They were fantastic – very efficient, professional and thorough. I have opted to start with a Cookie Policy, Privacy Policy and Website Terms of Use to ensure I meet the base level legal requirements of operating online.
- I have written future blog posts which I can draw on so that I am not trying to write posts as I go. My week is too busy with my family and other commitments to always rely on being free to write a blog post required that day or week. I will do the same with my newsletters and social media posts by creating a content plan.
- I printed some business cards through Canva and enjoyed handing them out and chatting about my business before the launch. I received 150 gloss cards on premium paper for A$48.
- I had to leave some tasks pending so I could just get launched. This included having a course ready to sell and posting training videos. I will put my head down over the next few weeks and try to get these completed.
- I have had to practice some constraints and focus on the next task, not all the information about what I could do for my website. I have gravitated towards passive learning for a long time, but it has been time for me to focus on action and learning by doing.
- My husband has given me fantastic support by reviewing copy on my website and giving me lots of feedback as I went. He was particularly good at keeping me focused on my key messages and ensuring I kept you, my ideal client, as the focus in all my content and copy. It is helpful for you to have someone read over your copy and give you lots of feedback too.
- I also requested a final review of my website by Kajabi technicians. They picked up some things I had missed, such as significant errors on mobile views of my landing pages.
From here, I will focus on publishing my weekly newsletter and publishing a tri-weekly blog. I will also start posting and interacting on social media and join Facebook groups. I am keen to keep enjoying the process and not get too overwhelmed by all the things I could be doing. I also look forward to starting recording videos and working on my first courses.
There are lots of ideas to think about in this post. Building your website and launching it is so worth all the hard work!! I have learned so much through this process, and I look forward to sharing lots more with you so that you don’t need to spend all the time I have understanding the website building process and can get started on your dream business sooner.
