I recently relistened to Russell Brunson's Secrets trilogy on Audible. I cannot speak highly enough of his work in these books about Marketing and Online Business. In this newsletter, I want to share some key takeaways from one section of his book, Expert Secrets. I found this book so interesting and thought it might help you, too.  

   

So many points in one chapter that include thoughts from prominent business experts, including Brunson, Gary Vaynerchuk and Rich Schefren, resonated for me, including the following:     

  • Brunson encourages everyone to publish daily for one year to find their voice and enable their audience to find them.   
  • Publishing often helps you to become and remain relevant.   
  • Don't panic about creating so much content; start documenting your work.   
  • If you want people to start listening to you, you have to show up.   
  • The hunger to make the perfect piece of content is crippling.   
  • Just be yourself.   
  • It is much more fruitful to talk about your process than the advice you think you should give.   
  • Documenting your journey vs creating an image of yourself is more "My intuition says . . ." rather than "you should . . ."    
  • Pick up your phone and start talking about what is most meaningful to you.     
  • What is creative and appealing will be subjective. What is not subjective is that you put yourself out there and kept swinging.     
  • Starting is the most crucial and significant hurdle people face.     
  • Russell encourages people to start documenting and continue for another five years, then come back to him to ask what to do next.     
  • I'm not publishing because I know everything about this topic; I'm creating content because I'm obsessed with this topic. What is the significant result you're obsessed with? What are you trying to learn for yourself anyway so you can document it as you discover it in real-time?     
  • Publishing content also allows you to start testing your material (in your own business, as a consultant, teaching others, etc.).     
  • Consistently showing up and publishing content will help you refine your message, find your voice, and attract your dream customers.     

  

I have found publishing a weekly newsletter over the past two years so helpful for finding my voice and connecting with mums in business. As I look to publish more on social media to build up my business, it has been great to reconnect with these thoughts and ideas. I particularly love hearing Russell talk about the importance of sharing your journey rather than being crippled by imposter syndrome and worrying that you are not expert enough to share your ideas.
