Today, in 4 minutes or less, you'll learn:

  1. Seven tips for writing content when you have writer's block.
  2. Ways to make creating content easier but also more valuable for your audience.
  3. So much happening in your daily life can help you write content, too.

Staring at a blank computer screen with no idea what to write is tough! It is not easy to come up with a constant flow of new ideas and information to share with your audience and clients. In this newsletter, I want to share my sure-fire tips to get your creativity flowing for the blog posts, social posts, newsletters, and other content you need to write. These ideas have been tried and tested in lots of different ways by myself, my mentors, and my clients. I hope they help you, too.

Let’s dive in.

#1 Ask your audience

Ask your audience for suggestions on what they want to hear from you. Consider conducting a 30-for-30 exchange whereby you share some of your skills and experience for 30 minutes in return for feedback or ideas from an ideal client. Reviewing some of your learnings from working with clients and sharing insights in a way that does not identify them can also be very valuable.

#2 Online tools to help work out what people are interested in and ask questions about

There are lots of online tools available that can help you to generate ideas, including:

  • Vid IQ: This can filter the comments under YouTube videos, such as a filter option for questions that have been asked, amongst many other helpful features.
  • Chat GPT: Ask an AI tool for prompts and ideas under key themes. You can also keep asking more granular questions to refine suggestions better.
  • Answer the Public and Answer Socrates: give excellent insights into what people search for on search engines like Google.
  • Google Auto Complete and Pinterest Auto Complete, which are found in the search bars, also provide valuable insights into the most popular searches on their engines.

#3 Content you have already created

After a certain period, you can begin resharing your previous content. You can reshare in a way that adds new thoughts and angles based on new learnings or experiences.

You can also repurpose content you have created in lots of different ways. For example, a blog post can be turned into a newsletter, a social post, a lead magnet, or a short course.

#4 Your take on content published by someone else

Take screenshots or save ideas or social posts that resonate with you. You can add them to your content, acknowledging the original author but adding your take or ideas. Viral content on social media platforms and top-performing content on platforms like Google and YouTube can also inspire you greatly.

#5 Conversations with people

Read back messages from friends, family, and business besties. They are often full of ideas, questions, and issues that will spark an idea. Or note down things that have resonated with you from conversations and interactions with people.

#6 What is currently happening for you

Share what is currently going on for you – ideas, thoughts, challenges. They may resonate with your audience, too, and be very helpful. Showing, rather than teaching your audience, can be powerful, so share about your journey and all you are learning.

Also, trawl through things you have previously written or saved. I often save notes, ideas or images in my Trello as they pop up. In the future, jot down ideas that have arisen for you at the end of each day. Future you will be so grateful!

#7 Take a break

I highly recommend taking a break, too. Step away and come back to it. Sometimes, this will give you a chance to stop and reflect and come up with new ideas you hadn’t considered.
